District-Wide Temporary Mask Mandate

On January 10 at approximately 8:30 pm, Superintendent Michael Fournier announced a district-wide temporary mask mandate from January 11 – January 28 after a unanimous decision by the school board earlier that evening. This was proposed directly after a 14-day mandate for the high school was announced on January 7- the time at which there were 73 COVID-positive students in the high school alone. Over the weekend, there were an additional 25 cases reported at BHS, urging the school board to temporarily extend the 14-day policy in the case of an outbreak (this was originally outlined in the Reopening Plan). The decision included that the mandate was not only to be extended time-wise but also beyond just the high school. With the outbreak, the mask mandate has spread to the rest of the district, for the time being.
